I feel like when I'm getting dressed I'm always torn between wanting to be stylish and just wanting to be comfortable. I usually end up somewhere in the middle.
I look a bit like a stumpy boy in this picture but you get the idea. The sweater is a guy's cashmere sweater I thrifted: So cozy!! I'm such a sucker for cashmere. I'll buy the ugliest things if they're soft.
I'm getting super pumped about Christmas. I'm a little bit at a loss of what to make for gifts. I really like making christmas gifts vs. buying them but I also don't want to give someone something lame that they pretend to like because they don't want to hurt my feelings.
Last year I did pretty well at making presents. I made coasters out of old book covers and I made a tea cozy and a skirt for two of my friends.
Do you have any suggestions for creative/easy/cheap Christmas presents I could make?
The necklace I'm wearing in this picture was made by my friend.
On Friday night I went to see a friend's dance show. It was so much fun and also kind of inspiring how much work went into it.
I think my friend Rhea put it well "It's refreshing to see that people still care enough about something to work so hard at it. People are more interesting when they're passionate about something."
After the show, I went out with a group of friends to get dessert of some kind. We wanted to go to Montreal's iconic chocolate restuarant "Juliet et Chocolat" but it was so full there was a lineup outside so instead we popped into the care depot and bought three pieces of cake to share: rasberry cheese cake, coffee cake and ferrero Rocher cake. I also got Candy Cane hot chocolate. I am so enticed by seasonal drinks: pumpkin spice lattes in the fall, candy cane hot chocolate in the winter....
Yup...so back to studying. Hope you guys are all having a good weekend!

You look so nice and cosy, and I love the red plimsoles.

You are too cute.
As for cheap and lovely gifts, I just finished with this! I made coupon books with scrapbooking paper, stickers. They are super cute and are specific to the person each is for! Kind of like.. a coffee of your choice for me to bring to our math class next semester, or one "get out of watching Breakfast at Tiffany's free" pass, etc. :)
And dance shows.. :D
Cute sweater! <3
ooh girl I wore something similar today! I love days that call for big knit sweater, jeans, and comfy shoes :)
I think our clothing styles are opposite: I want to be stylish even if it's uncomfortable :P
I do want some cashmere sweaters though...
I think the red sweater looks great! I'm loving all red things at the moment...
haha that's how i am! part of me wants to be stylish but the other part wants to be in a baggy shirt and sweats.
nice sweater! red looks great on you.

A very holiday-ish sweater, Christy!
I agree. Seeing people do what they love is so inspiring to me too :)
