I think the beginning of August has been a bit of a shock to a lot of people, myself included. But as I'm going away in two days I still feel like I have a boat load of summer left.
Today I got caught in the rain biking downtown to buy flip flops. (yep I wanted old navy flip flops that bad) It would have been fun except that the rain was so hard that it was stinging my arms and legs and my bike breaks don't really work well when they're wet. Nevertheless I arrived home safe and am now cozied up with my laptop and some Tea.
I just wanted to post some pictures that I find pretty and that have inspired me lately, including some of Zooey Deschanel.

While I was in the middle of making this post my neighbour rang the door bell to tell me that across the road from us there were a flock of yellow birds. I went out to see and sure enough there were at least 30 gold finches feeding on some purple flowers across the street. It was a happy surprise.
I hope you guys are all making the most of summer :)
