Christy: Happy new year 2012 (yup I still exist?!)

If 2012 is going to be the end of the year, there certainly haven't been any signs of it yet.
Pandora, (our cat as of the end of the summer) doesn't seem in the least alarmed and is taking life at a leisurely pace. Her favorite activities include playing in the shower curtain, waking me up at five am to feed her and visiting our neighbours' homes. We are trying to discourage this behavior but she doesn't seem to understand that every apartment in our building is not ALSO her home. The other day I came home and she was watching me from the other side of our neighbour's glass door.

At least she keeps me company while I write essays.
Which (by the way) I have been doing a lot lately. I have just started my second semester of studying English Literature at Mcgill University. I know Mcgill has a tendency to be a bit pretentious but I am slowly growing to love it I think...

More pertinent to this blog: Laura, my cousin and fellow blogger now lives in Montreal and is studying aesthetics (make up, skin care, electrolysis etc). We frequently are at the same events, both wearing interesting things but somehow we haven't gotten our act together and blogged. But ya! It's been very cool being in the same city for the first time in our lives.

Any family resemblance?
Today I told a friend that my cousin and I had kept a blog for a year and a half but hadn't blogged since Summer and his response was "That's so depressing! To go at something for so long and then give up! that's awful!" (I think he was partly joking) but it's true that it's sad to give up something that actually lasted quite a while.
So here is what I"m wearing today.

My friend gave me this wool dress/shirt thing and it's quite comfy but a bit short to wear with anything but leggings. Best of all: it has pockets! I am convinced that nearly anything can be improved with the addition of pockets.

Take note of the lovely tall bookshelf behind me. We carried it home from a friend's house which was roughly an hour away. It started snowing on our way and it was oddly wonderful.
